Interview With Kayla Brown

Justin with Kayla BrownToday I have a special post for you.  Today I am interviewing Kayla Brown.  Kayla is Miss Northern Lakes and she will be competing for the title of Miss Minnesota in a couple of months.  How cool is that?  If you remember, last fall I had the privilege of judging a beauty contest.  Kayla was the winner.

On top of that, Kayla raises money for the Children’s Miracle Network.  So for the last 3 or 4 weeks, I have been working with Kayla and sponsoring the CMN as my charity for the month. Let’s see what she has to say. Continue reading

Workout Of The Week

This week we are going to be doing some On The Minute snatch work. This series is very good at teaching, perfecting, and honing your snatch technique.

 Swing x 1, T-Rex x 1, Snatch x 1

Ladder test for the first few minutes to get a good baseline. From there, make sure that you hit perfect reps every rounds. I would rather you take a round off than give me bad reps just so you can say you did them.  Check out the video Continue reading

Pressing Variations For When You Are Too Strong

contra lateral lungeing pressWhat do you do when you get too strong? That is a great question really.

If you come to my studio only then you know that I have enough kettlebells to last most people a long time. But still even then I have a limit for as high as the weight gets. Check out today’s video for some cool pressing variations for when you get a little too strong for the bells you have.

But seriously though, check out the video.  I am going to show you how to use a simple item that you can probably find laying around your house to really fix up your squat pattern. Continue reading
