WebMay 18, 2024 · The Knobs Region or The Knobs is located in the US state of Kentucky. It is a narrow, arc-shaped region consisting of hundreds of isolated hills. The region wraps around the southern and eastern parts of the Bluegrass region in the north central to northeastern part of the state. WebShe completed her Ph.D. at the University of Michigan in 1945, and her dissertation topic was the flora and vegetation of the Devonian-Missisippian black shale regions of Kentucky. This study of the Knobs region, the most comprehensive region-wide study yet attempted in Kentucky, resulted in the documen-tation of over 1000 taxa in the area.
